I/O Error

Post by pgriffin » Wed Jul 13, 2005 1:22 pm

One of my customers reported that one of their scripts stopped with the error "I/O Error". That was it, no more description, no error code.

Has anyone ever seen this? I use a lot of VBScript and since there was no error code, I assume it is a MacroScript error.

Sounds more like a OS error to me. What does the script do? I/O error would imply that some input/output device is involved such as a com port ,a parallel port a USB port, keyboard, mouse, monitor, etc...

Hope this helps,
Dick

More likely a file is read only or already open when trying to be read to or written to. Would need to see log file showing point at which I/O error occured so that we can narrow down cause.

I have seen some sporadic I/O error messages when using GetDate> command. Don't recall the environments, but usually used Month> Day Year> etc to solve immediately. Then forgot about reporting it.

I think the environment was probably Win2000 OS.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob
