Mouse pointer in Screen Captures
Is the Mouse Pointer suppose to be included in the Screen Capture? Mine isn't.

Hello:
When I write scripts using Macro Scheduler, I include an optional parameter on the command line to allow (force) the script to capture the screen before each mouse or keyboard activity. This is used for documentation of the script and to ensure the script is doing what the users think they want. It would be more useful if the mouse pointer was captured as well. I would like to see an option to have(or not have) the pointer appear in the captured image.
Thanks for you time reading this.

That's an interesting feature but would require a work around. The mouse is not part of the 'capturable' screen canvas. Note that when you hit the print screen button the screen image that is captured does not include the mouse cursor. I'm not even sure if Windows provides a function that captures both.
But I suppose what we could do is get the mouse cursor position and then draw something on to the captured image at that point. Ideally it would retrieve details of the mouse cursor graphic and paint a copy of the mouse cursor graphic on to the image. Not sure about the ins and outs of achieving that, but if time permits will look into whether or not this can be done.

Thanks. I will look forward to whatever you can do in this area. We have a screen capture program that will capture the image and the mouse, but I don't like to use it for this process, because it requires another program to be loaded and sometimes the timing of the script gets messed up. Thanks again..

This goes a bit further than capturing the mouse pointer. But it might apply, depending on what you are doing.
Viewlet Builder might be something that you want to look at.
Excellent tool for creating training sessions. Not just capturing the mouse, but also can show mouse movement across the screen. Final product is like a PowerPoint presentation. But not inexpensive, about $150? so you will need to do a lot of training. But even that price might be less expensive than the time to do those tasks with other tools. Does have a 30 day free trial with watermarks..
