msched.exe - Entry Point Not Found
I recently upgraded to the latest release of Macro Scheduler without incident. It has worked just fine for the last couple of weeks until yesterday when I received the message "msched.exe - Entry Point Not Found" after rebooting my PC. The rest of the message in the dialog box said: "The procedure entry point cmdCheckTempInit could not be located in the dynamic link library ntvdm.exe". I am running Windows 2000 Professional with the latest service pack. I have rebooted again this morning and receive the same message. The only thing else that has been installed on my PC recently is the iTunes Player from Apple. Thinking that maybe a DLL got stepped on or something, I reinstalled Macro Scheduler but still get the message on reboot. Upon getting this message, Macro Scheduler does not start.
Hi,
That is very odd. NTVDM is the virtual DOS machine that is used to run 16 bit applications. Macro Scheduler is a 32 bit application and therefore has nothing to do with NTVDM.
1) Have you installed any service packs or hotfixes lately?
2) What happens if you redownload and install Macro Scheduler?
3) Does this happen only on startup? Can you start Macro Scheduler manually after the system has settled down?
4) Do you have any scripts set to run on startup?
5) Maybe a VBScript error. Try reinstalling the latest VBScript distribution:

6) Maybe this MSKB article will help: "Troubleshooting NTVDM and WOW Startup Errors":

Hi,
Did you ever manage to resolve this issue? Someone else has just reported this same message and I am interested to know why. They also say it has occured out of the blue - no SPs or hotfixes installed! Bit weird. Did you ever solve it?

Hi Blreeves,
1. Don't panic.
2. Have you recently uninstalled Norton Antivirus?
3. Do you have Norton Antivirus currently running?
4. Do your Macro Scheduler script(s) in question contain VBscript?
5. Run SFC /scannow to verify the integrity of critical components in Windwos. Make sure you have a Windows installation CD readily in the CD drive.

Hi everyone
I have had this same message on two applications one is an AS400 emulator which when I run it now comes up with the message "pcsws.exe Entry Point Not Found"
"The procedure entry point cmdCheckTempInit could not be located in the dynamic link library ntvdm.exe"
The second is on my backup drive using CMS software Bounce Back same thing I have reinstalled both softwares and no change.
Guess what thoughI recently deleted iTunes too!!!
Any other help available
