Image Recognition scanning

I am wondering exactly how the screen is scanned. I just coded a case where there were two instances of the target image. Image A was above and to the right of image B. I expected image A to be the first one found (scanning from top down) but that was not the case. I assume then, that scanning is left to right, triggering on the x value of the co-ordinate.??

It is from top left to bottom right. So left to right.
