Does Macro scheduler support extra buttons?

Post by Jakal » Wed Aug 06, 2003 3:01 pm

Ok, im planning to buy a new keyboard, a logitech internet navigator SE, and it has 21 extra buttons.
Lets say i want to have one of those extra buttons as a hotkey for ctrl-alt-delete.

Does macro scheduler support programming those extra buttons or not?

Hi,

I don't know what those extra buttons are, but Macro Scheduler supports function keys 1 to 24. If they are function keys they are covered by that - most keyboards have only F1 to F12.

In any case Macro Scheduler supports F1 to F24 regardless of your keyboard. Say a piece of software does something if you press F24. It will do this whether you have a keyboard with F24 on it or not - Macro Scheduler actually helps you use that key on a keyboard without it. In this sense 'extra buttons' on your keyboard are irrelevent as far as Macro Scheduler is concerned. Hardware is not relevent to Macro Scheduler.

I expect that your keyboard comes with it's own driver for assigning those 'extra buttons' to specific events or shortcuts. I have a laptop which has 6 buttons which I can assign to various software events - and this is covered by the keyboard driver that comes with the laptop. It may be that this is the case with your new keyboard.
