send command SLOW with Kaspersky Internet Security 7

Hi there,

i have installed mjtnet's Macro Scheduler and Kaspersky Internet Security 7. All latest versions.

Macro Scheduler enables writing scripts/macros to automate tasks on the computer.

All this software is installed on a target machine to which i connect via remote desktop (both Windows XP Professional SP2).

The Problem:
With Kaspersky Internet Security 7 installed, the scripts take suddenly ages to complete.

Example Script:
---> script startLet>
WW_TIMEOUT=5
CapsOff
Run Program>C:\WINDOWS\system32\Notepad.exeWait>1
Send>test1test2test3
<--- script end

The 'Send' command is terribly SLOW with KIV running in the background.

One interesting point:
I have disabled ALL protection features within KIV. KIV is just running in the background without any protection active, but still leading Macro Scheduler to process the 'Send' command SLOW.
When closing the KIV-Process (via exit) the script runs OK.

Is there any other user having KIV installed and can confirm the problem. Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks for letting us know about this Chris. It seems Kaspersky is somehow intercepting all emulated keyboard input. Most annoying. I will add an entry to the FAQ about this in case others have the same problem. I will also try to contact Kaspersky.

I just heard back from Kaspersky Labs. They asked me to ask you to try this:

>First try adding the Macro Scheduler applications to our
>trusted Zone - open Kaspersky click on Settings->Threats
>and Exclusions and click on Trusted Zone, click on Trusted
>Applications then on add then tick all 4 boxes and browse
>to location of the program and apply and ok. Now try it.

Could you try and see if it helps?

However, I don't see this is a permanent solution as new users are not going to try that - they're going to uninstall Macro Scheduler and we are going to lose a sale. I have suggested to Kaspersky that they should work round this and see Macro Scheduler for the legitimate tool it is in the first place.

How would that work with compiled macros? Would they have to be added individually?

Yes, probably. That's another reason this is not a permanent solution. However, Kaspersky have assured me they have a means of whitelisting legit programs and adding them in regular updates. My query has been passed on to their dev team who are now looking at this. So fingers crossed, the next Kaspersky update will have this solved.

Hi. I tried that already - does not help.

However, as said: Kaspersky also slowing down Macro Scheduler then in 'Pause Mode'. So, all rules & exceptions don't have any influence to this behaviour (from my point of view).

Kaspersky got back to me with the following:

Hi Marcus, Just to keep you posted yes they are aware of the issue - but so far they cannot replicate it - as soon as they do they will escalate it as a bug. If they need a full version I have asked that they contact you.

!!! One important information:

This issue happens when connected via Remote Desktop to another computer. The problem then exists on the remote computer.
