Trouble with Tabs and Buttons

Post by akaradio » Thu Nov 16, 2006 8:24 pm

Ok, Im not a very experienced coder, so pleae be patient.

What I am tryting to do is automated the connection process in WinAmp's ShoutCast plug in. With MS I can execute WinAmp with the appropriate playlist, but when it comes to selecting the correct configuration tab (in this case "OutPut" and then clicking on the "Connect" button, I just cant get it.

I assume my problems lie in non-standard buttons? Using View System Windows, I can see the "Connect" button, but I cant click it. I have tried MouseOver to the button listed in View System Windows with no luck. Im unable to locate the "Output" tab also.

I dont want to use Mouse Coordinates because that's just too many possible problems.

I imagine I could use the ImageCompare plugin, but that seems like overkill for just 2 clicks?

Any ideas or am I just with ImageCompare?

Thanks much!

I don't have a copy of WinAmp, so I have to ask. Can you Tab to the location then press enter? Most times using the keyboard is the most effective way to navigate.

Thanks for the reply!

Thats what I am currently doing. The problem is, in the ShoutCast window, there are 4 tabs. Now, if you dont touch the tabs, the last used tab stays active. Then you can keyboard tab to 'connect' and press ENTER. But if for some reason, the correct window tab is not active, there is no way to select the correct tab because any of the other window tabs might be the active one. Hard to picture without seeing it, I know.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

Is there a Home or End for Tab? For example if you hit CTL-Tab or something similar, will it always go to the same position?
Maybe pressing Shift-Tab*n will get you to a Home position?

Or maybe press another ALT/CTL-Key just to get position, then ESC to cancel it, then Press Tab*n from there?

Then you can Press TAb*n to get to the correct position.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob

Well, I've tried all the suggestions and played more with Window viewer with no joy. I guess we'll just have to make sure to leave that one tab active upon exiting the program. Not a major problem, just would be nice to make it fool proof.

Thanks again for the great product and helpful support!
