Macro Scheduler GPF

Post by tcoffma » Thu Oct 17, 2002 1:49 pm

Hi,

I've been having problems with GPFs with Macro Scheduler. I was trying to evaluate the software on an older pc and it kept crashing. So I moved it to a more current PC (1.4 ghz) and It doesn't crash my PC, but it gives me a GPF. In the most recent case I wasn't even running a macro when it happened. It was just sitting in the system tray.

The error of the GPF is:

Access Violation at address 0052ECC5 in module 'msched.exe'. Read of address 00000000.

Please help, I am trying to find a method to automate some processes and so far I haven't been able to tell my superiors I have a viable solution.

My OS is Win 2K btw.

Thanks,

Tim Coffman

Hi,

Which version of Macro Scheduler are you using - please look under Help/About?

When does the GPF occur? Is it during script execution? Please enable logging for the script, run the script until the error occurs and then grab the log file and email it to [email protected] along with your script and an explanation of what you are trying to automate.

It is most likely an issue with the script - something the script is doing that Windows or the scripted app doesn't like.

Thanks,
Marcus

i'm using version 6.2.3e.

I will try to figure out what is happening when I get this error, but today nothing was happening. It was sitting idle in the sys tray with zero macros running, I do have logging enabled for the script I am automating.

10/17/2002 05:00:15:718 - Macro>Open Import Shipping
10/17/2002 05:39:03:174 - macro>run import shipping
10/17/2002 05:39:05:247 - Macro>Close Falcon
10/17/2002 05:39:05:247 - Finished Macro : Run Falcon Import Shipping

When I got to work this morning the macro ahd run fine, and I didn't have the GPF. I came back to my pc a bit later and the gpf was there.

Hi,

Very strange. Are you sure it is Macro Scheduler that is causing the error? Since it isn't doing anything at the time it is a bit odd. Can I ask you to update to version 7.0 - http://www.mjtnet.com/downloads.htm

If you could also send details of the GPF etc to [email protected] that would be great.

tcoffma,

I've been using Macro Scheduler for a month and never encountered a single occurrence of GPF. To help troubleshoot your problem, you may wish to post the first one and two lines of the actual GPF (blue screen) message here.
