Macros from previous 7.4, how to move easily?

Post by BatchBoy » Sun Mar 12, 2006 11:08 pm

I've mastered a few things with computers over last couple years in learning, but one big hole BEYOND drag-'n-drop into a folder is......how the hell does one move a file from one folder to another easily!? Sounds quite (spanish) "EeeeStupido!" but its a blinders-on thing for me that's never gotten resolved, can easily do drag-'n-drop but how does one move them around in general to sideways equally weighted folders!? My ultimate resort is to use the File>Yahoo_Email_attachment feature, then for sure when I get my own email I have opportunity to "saveAs", no problemos there, but a rather roundabout way to do! I have these old MJT Ltd (not II) Macros I'd like to move to new # II, but here is that problem again! Simple moving of file T-O (!!!) a folder that is NOT one of the generic drop-down-menu items like "My Documents" or "My Computer", LOL, know what I mean? Anyone got this specific general computer thing licked so I can apply to my Macros in earlier MJT folder?

THx,
Truly,
Jerry B.

Too general and complex to explain here, but strongly suggest ALWAYS DRAG WITH RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON, vs. the left button.

When you use left button, sometimes files are copied and sometimes they are moved. It depends on the source and destination drives.

But rather then remember when it moves and when it copies, use the right button. When you release the button you wil get a drop down menu that will allow you to make the choice about Move/Copy.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob

nope, right-click only yields those send-to's like "My Document" and "My Computer", no way there to send to a specific file! So is there no way, or too computer techy involved for this forum?

You want to move files from one folder to another? I assume you are using Windows Explorer? A number of ways. One is to highlight the files, right click on them and select CUT. Go to the new folder, right click in it and select PASTE. Another is to drag it. Dragging files will move them. Holding CTRL as you do so copies them.

But what has this to do with Macro Scheduler? If you want to import macros into your Macro Scheduler setup use the File/Import Macros tool.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

Thanks Marcus, that import function worked fine. As far as moving files from folder to folder in general, I'll leave that for more on-topic forums. Appreciate the help.
