Trim an entire text file

Guys maybe I should start at the beginning...

I have a text file of the directory of a CD - the first three characters are for example - D:\

The challenge is since I wont know what letter is assigned to each CD drive of a system, I need to remove the first three characters of each line so that only the path is there example

if the string says d:\test\new\sample - i need to remove the first three characters so it simply says:

test\new\sample

so basically I need to remove the first 3 characters of every line
