RSS missing artilces with 11.1.20

Post by Bob Hansen » Fri Feb 19, 2010 4:33 am

Installed Macro Scheduler 11.1.20 and there are no RSS articles listed any more. Get message that new article is available, but NONE are listed, not just the latest one, but all of them.

If I click on Help/News Feed, I get message "Unable to connect to the Internet." but that is incorrect. I am connected now as I send this message.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob

Hi Bob and Marcus,

I just installed 11.1.20 on the home Win 7 machine. Were you installing on XP Bob?

RSS articles come up fine for me here, however immediately as the install finished, something I've never seen before popped up called the Microsoft "Program Compatibility Assistant". See separate post for more on that issue.

Note: If anyone else on the planet would find the following useful...
[Open] PlayWav command that plays from embedded script data
...then please add your thoughts/support at the above post - :-)

Has it been blocked by Windows firewall / some other firewall s/w perhaps? What happens if you try and run a script which does an HTTPRequest or similar?

Seem to remember someone else seeing this once and then finding their firewall/security software had blocked it.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

When restarted today, ZoneAlarm came up asking for authorization for Macro Scheduler. RSS items then showed up. So it appears like your guess about firewall was correct. I did not have any of the install problems mentioned by j[puziano. Installed on XP-PRO SP3.

All looks OK now.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
