Text Capture

Post by Krysle » Thu Jan 15, 2009 10:38 pm

I created a script that captures text with GetWindowTextEx on my Vista PC. I compiled and tried to run it on my XP and it doesn't work. Is there something I need to do different for XP?

btw - love the product 8)

There shouldn't be. Does the problem occur every time? What happens if you reboot your XP machine and then try it? And feel free to email me the exe and I'll be happy to test it here on XP also.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

Problem resolved... who would know that the same screen on one PC would have more leading blank characters than on another.

Another question, is there a font I can use that will give me a consistent look on different PCs? I set the font on all dialogs to Ariel. The buttons, etc. look great on my Vista but on XP they are too big for the allocated button space. Cosmetics :!:

i know this question woot its as easy as going into your graphics properties like say one comp is 32bit 1024*768 and the other is 16bit by 800*600 the screens would look quite different try setting both your xp and vista settings to be the same also make sure font size is same on both both those can be changed in graphics properties also ive seen that if one moniter is using 85hrt and the other is 60 can look slightly differnt toobut is very rare occurance if your getting text from ie or word etc you also should make sure both comps using same version liek if one using ie7 and other ie8 could make program little off also if you dont have taskbar hidden they could be different sizes aswell wich would make anything your looking at be slightly dif from one comp to the other so its best to keep task bar hidden on each for your scripts so basically make sure everything is identical on each font size smoothing etc
if idiots rule the world then im the king!!!!
