automaticly turn on computer

Hello,

Lets say i want a macro script to run 200 times, and then shut down computer for 1h so he will have some rest. How to do that?

in BIOS i can setup to automaticlly turn on PC once a day, but this solution doesnt satisfy me.

Use one of those timer switches you can plug into a power socket? One thing's for sure - software isn't the answer.

hm, you have confirmed what i was thinking - that its not an easy mission to accomplish ;)
I will play with BIOS and see what can be done.

Could you use some type of hardware to wake up pc if triggered rrom another system? Shuitdown of this system would trigger timer to start on the triggering system.

well i have configured bios so the autostart works fine... but not if my laptop is closed. When its closed, it cant boot and i contacted dell and they said that some notebooks were designed so to protect from overheat. The only way is to remove the lid... hmm will try :)
