OnEvent 3 key combinations

Post by JRL » Fri Sep 01, 2006 7:57 pm

Hi,
I'd like to see OnEvent enhanced to be able to detect 3 key presses rather than the current 2 key presses. Macro Scheduler macros can be assigned "hot keys" that are 3 key combinations and this works very well for starting macros. However, its getting more and more difficult to find 2 key combinations that don't conflict with existing hot keys within CAD, word processing, spreadsheet, etc applications.

0: No modifier key
1: SHIFT+key
2: CONTROL+key
3: ALT+key
4: SHIFT+ALT+key
5: CONTROL+ALT+key
6: SHIFT+CONTROL+key

Or how about a unique to Macro Scheduler?
7: CONTROL+ALT+SHIFT+key

Thanks for listening,
Dick

Good idea, Dick ....

But NOT "CONTROL+ALT+SHIFT+key"

That is already reserved for my KVM units.

Sorry
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob

Really.... I have two brands of KVMs GWC and Linksys, both use a double tap on the scroll lock key for switching.

I know you're joking but... the availability of any key combination does not mean you have to use it. As yet, I've not set up OnEvent to detect CTRL+C although there might be a reason for it.

Thanks for the affirmative vote.

No consistency in KVM, another one that I use has double tap of CTL key.

And I discovered some time ago that you can't use SEND> to use KVM switch . The KVM traps key value input directly from physical keyboard before passing into the system. Macro Scheduler comes in after the KVM has already filtered.

We will add extra modifier keys to OnEvent/KEY_DOWN in version 9.0.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

Thank you Marcus,

I'm certain that this addition will benefit many.

Later,
