Cannot Run MS evaluation on Win 2000 server

Post by colingbradley » Thu Apr 01, 2004 10:27 am

I have tested the MS install on a Win NT4 PC and it worked fine.
(version 7.2 eval)

I need to try MS out on the Win2000 server but all I get is the first screen telling me this is an evaluation version and I can Continue, Order, help or Cancel.

Clicking on Continue does nothing except bring the same screen back.

Do I need to purchase first before testing?

No, you don't have to pay first before evaluating it. Had you installed Macro Scheduler previously?

No previous install had been done on this server.

Hello colingbradley,

Given the limited infromation you indicate, it appears to be an installer issue deriving from multiple possiblities:
1. antivirus software script blocking
2. Windows installer
3. Windows script
3. corrupted Window registry
....
colingbradley, I have never encountered such scenario with Macro Scheduler; on the other hand, your desribed symptom resembles to the issues I often confront when installing Symantec products. By contrast, Macro Scheduler installation is more straightforward, simplistic, and fool-proof in 99.99% of cases.

Happy scripting.
