Possible to run a macro in a inactive window?
Possible to run a macro in a inactive window? can a macro only run if the window is active?
A macro simulates you being at the PC. If you want to type a keystroke, hit alt, whatever... in to a certain 'window' (application), then that application needs to be the window in focus.
A macro can run without any window in focus. It can still act as if you're hitting keys, moving the mouse, all all that happy stuff.... but then the keystrokes would go to the desktop / taskbar / etc.
So the answer to your question would be no. However, I assume you want to control that "window" somehow (send keystrokes to it?), in which case, you can set focus to it yourself.
Some applications (like mirc) will accept commands via DDE - so you can have it do something without it being in focus.
It all depends on what you want to do, and with what program(s).
