IEshowIE appears to be black

Post by Djek » Mon May 12, 2014 1:36 pm

hi,
just wondered why if i type in IEshowIE the color is black, but the other IE-commands are light-blue?
is there a reason for it?
kind regards
Djek

It displays correctly for me. Which version do you have?

i use version 14.1.04

Tried it on an other pc and its the same.
Dont bother to dig deep into it, it was just a question cause the color helps to check the syntax.
:D

kind regards

This is all a bit strange. I wonder why it shows ok for me but no one else. Are other IE functions ok? Does the code builder work? Do you see the syntax in the quick help bar at the bottom?

as far as i know are all the IE functions OK.
Otherwise i would have let you know about it.
The appearence of the syntax varies, and that wondered me.

I did not use the new IE wizard fully yet, i use F12 in IE to collect data and put in data.
But i already noticed that this wizard sometimes points at an element, and then shows info about elements about 100 pix below them. I ve multiple IE instances open, so that could be the problem.
But its hard to reproduce this. But the wizard is a great help if you start with the IE functions and cant find you way through the html.
kind regards,
Djek

That may be because the page has nested frames. As the wizard itself says, it won't work very well with pages with frames. It uses the cursor position to find the object but frames (and maybe other things) will throw the offsets out. There's a limit to what we can do so we made a note on the wizard. Flat pages should be ok, but certain things can throw off the positions and it may seem out. In theory you can still use it if you use your head and look at the tag name and if you can see it's the element you want even though the cursor is in the "wrong" place you can still generate the code needed.
