installation on one pc, multiple users

Post by kh_kevin » Mon Nov 12, 2012 8:47 am

hello,

first just wanted to say how great i think macro scheduler is. i first used it at my old job and it quickly became integrated into my workflow and an important piece of software at work. just started at a new one and i'm having it put into use here as well.

anyway, my situation is this:
- we will use one pc, let's call it the automation pc
- plan to use macro scheduler professional w/web recorder

problem:
- we have to install and run on user a's login at first. in a few weeks, we will be running this on user b's login. in the future...i *hope* we will be getting a dedicated login, but i don't know when that will be. (in case you are wondering, the dedicated login isn't the problem...it's giving this login rights to different areas of the company unfortunately)

will i have a problem w/my macro scheduler and web recorder installations? what would be the suggested process to use for installation, if any?

for evaluation on my pc, i installed both. once a second user logged in (to get around domain access issues), macro scheduler couldn't "see" web recorder anymore but i could still use it when opened from the start menu.

hope that made sense, if i can clarify please let me know. thanks!

You would just need to install into each profile.

sounds good, thanks. do you happen to have any idea why macro scheduler (editor) was not able to "see" web recorder for the 2nd user? not a big deal though as i can run it separately and save to a network location.

I expect because the installation location is written to HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
