What happened to Window Spy?
Back at the turn of the Century

I downloaded WS 1.0 and have been using it ever since... back in the old days when Marcus was the entire operation. I have copied it from old machine to new machine and always have had it available, that is until my hard drive crashed. Of course the back-up on my server was so old that it has been archived and then expired... as in overwritten on the tape.
I can't find Window Spy anywhere on the MJT site, although the "about" button indicates it is an MJT product... Web searches turn up other products.

With version 6.2.1.4, Macro Scheduler added View System Windows to the Menu Bar system. And added the same tool in the editor menu with version 7.2.031. Click on Tools, View System Windows.
I still have Window Spy on my system even though I am using 7.2.040. Window Spy had other features that I prefer to use at times.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
Bob

Thanks Bob, your posts are always helpful.
I checked the tools menu and there is what I wanted... I had it all along... got to remember to read the release notes... RFM!
I also need to look at windows names when not in MSched. Where can I get the version of Window Spy you are using now.

I don't know if it is limited to registered users or not.

Who knows, maybe someone will send you a copy!

A piece of free software is PrcView which displays a wealth of information about running prcesses. It kind of combines TLIST and KILL commands, allowing process to be killed with a mouse click. Latest version is available at
http://www.teamcti.com.
Summary:
PrcView is a process viewer utility that displays detailed information about processes running under Windows. For each process it displays memory, threads and module usage. For each DLL it shows full path and version information. PrcView comes with a command line version that allows you to write scripts to check if a process is running, kill it, etc.
Hope this was helpful..................good luck,
