Reload registry without a restart

Post by rostar » Mon Oct 06, 2003 4:56 pm

Does anybody know how to reload the registry without a restart in WinNT and Windows 2000? Can this be done in command line? Is it even possible to restart the shell without logging off? I want to change registry entries and have them applied without a restart or logoff.

Thank you

Lumumba

Reload registry without a restart

Post by rostar » Tue Oct 07, 2003 12:33 pm

Thanks Lumumba for the suggestion but...
Already searched the forum and the rundll commands are not applicable to WinNT and Win2000. Also tried Microsoft and did not find a reference to reloading the registry or restarting the windows shell without a logoff or restart. I was hoping that someone had found a way and could share that info as I have been unable to find one. Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

P.S. Do you always refer to forum posters as ladies?
