Hello,
I have been having problems since moving from Win98 to Win2k with version 6.1. Basically, the shift key just does not translate from my macros into Windows properly.
For example, I use a program where the Paste command is Shift+Insert. I would like to copy a cell of data from Excel into this program, so I create the script:
press ctrl
wai>1
send>c
wai>1
release ctrl
wai>1
press alt
wai>1
press tab
wai>1
release alt
wai>1
press shift
wai>1
press ins
wai>1
release shift
wai>1
In Win98, this worked perfectly every time. Now that we've gotten new PCs and upgraded to Win2k, it seems like the shift is ignored. I've tried other applications of the shift key to prove this, such as attempting to go into a cell in Excel and copy 6 characters, i.e.:
press f2
wai>0.5
press shift
wai>0.5
press left
wait>0.5
press left
wait>0.5
press left
wait>0.5
press left
wait>0.5
press left
wait>0.5
press left
wait>0.5
release shift
wait>0.5
and all this macro script does is move over 6 characters to the left.
I did a couple of searches and couldn't find a post covering this subject, but if one does exist, please refer me to it. Otherwise, any help resolving this would be appreciated. Thanks,
Shane

Thank you for the reply, but unfortunately it also did not work for me. If it were only my PC, I would troubleshoot the PC, and if it were only in this proprietary program that the PRESS SHIFT command were not working, I would assume the program was incompatible with Macro Sched 6.1. The problem with this though is that it is the same issue on any PC in my office running Win2k and Macro 6.1, and it is an issue in Excel, Wordpad, etc.
Since I have found the Paste option in a toolbar menu, I can get to it without using the PRESS SHIFT command, and have gotten this particular macro referenced in the first post to do its job.
What I'm wondering though, is if anyone else has experienced this issue or if my experience is so far an isolated incident?

Hi,
You are using quite an old version of Macro Scheduler. I have just looked through the history list (available at http://www.mjtnet.com/index.mv?mswhatsnew.html and in the help file) and I see that an issue with sending the Shift key in conjunction with some other keys in Windows 2000 was fixed in version 6.2.1.2. No other operating systems were effected.
Upgrading should fix the issue. 6.x upgrades are free. As a registered user of version 6.1 you can upgrade to 6.2.3 (the last 6.x release) for free at http://www.mjtnet.com/dldregd.htm
