clicking inside of UAC dialog

Post by vanfanel » Thu Jun 14, 2007 8:51 pm

Does version 9.0+ of Macro Scheduler allow you to click on the "Continue" or "Cancel" buttons of vista's UAC dialog? I have a script which launches an installer that brings up this dialog when UAC is enabled. Is it possible to click on the Continue button. I have an older version of Macro Scheduler and although it can set the focus to the UAC dialog clicking/pressing inside the dialog seem to do nothing.

thanks.

No software can do this. UAC dialogs are owned by the security console. Notice that the greyed out desktop behind the UAC dialog is actually a screen shot of your desktop. Context switches to the security logon console, away from your user account. Therefore no software running under your account can manipulate the UAC dialogs. That is the whole point of them. If you need to automate administrative tasks, switch off UAC and if necessary run Macro Scheduler as admin.
