pls help with auto logon trouble!

Post by aschiro » Mon Jul 31, 2006 10:17 pm

I have a macro here that runs fine when I am logged in and hit run, but when I schedule it to be done overnight it gets stuck somewhere in the first couple lines. Seems weird that the task manager window is present too when I arrive the next day. This script is used to erase a CDRW in drive E and then write/backup files onto it again every day. I get a window opened to E:\ and the task manager open, but that is all - no files deleted (the alt f a commands) or written . The auto-logon seems to work ok. 'ere she is:

ExecuteFile>E:\
WaitWindowOpen>E:\
SetFocus>E:\
Press ALT
Release ALT
Send Character/Text>fa
WaitWindowOpen>CD Writing Wizard
SetFocus>CD Writing Wizard
Send Character/Text>n
Wait>300
Press Tab
Press Enter
CopyFile>C:\Latest Dish Fluid,C:\Documents and Settings\thedish\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning\Latest Dish Fluid
CopyFile>C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks Pro\Latest Dish Fluid.QBW,C:\Documents and Settings\thedish\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning\Latest Dish Fluid.QBW
CopyFile>C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks Pro\Latest Dish Fluid.QBW,C:\Documents and Settings\thedish\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\CD Burning\Latest Dish 2005.QBW
SetFocus>E:\
Press ALT
Release ALT
Send Character/Text>ft
Wait>120
Press Tab * 2
Press Enter
Wait>1500
SetFocus>E:\
Press ALT
Release ALT
Send Character/Text>fc
SetFocus>CD Writing Wizard
Press Tab
Wait>2
Press Tab
Wait>2
Press Enter
Wait>2

*please note the wait commands in the last few lines were a bit experimental and probly not necessary

thanks to anyone who can help!

Hi,

Is Windows locked, or logged out when this macro is scheduled?

Have you enabled the Scheduler Service (Tools/Options - Keep Scheduling in Exit)?

How is AutoLogon set up?

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

blind mistake on my part

Post by aschiro » Tue Aug 01, 2006 11:17 pm

whoops, looks like I was blind on this one - just upgraded to new version to get the auto logon & when I enabled it I didn't read the note at the bottom that says it will not work with welcome screen, only the classic-style logon. so, that fixed my main problem, now I only need to work out some other issues I've dealt with before to get this puppy fully workin'. When I went to check the auto-logon setup I saw the note - thanks for lending an ear!
