Unlock workstation WINDOWS2000 professional

Hi, i try to unlock my workstation with a macro but when the unlock screen appear only userid is correctly typed in. The password field is blank and the workstation remains locked. I have specified correctly my userid and password in autologon screen.
Please help.

Does this always happen?

Do you have a custom login screen? Make sure you are using only the standard Windows classic log in.

Yes, it always happen.
I haven' t a custom login screen. It is the standard windows login screen.

Hmm. Do you have all the latest updates applied? Which language version of Win2k pro is this?

Microsoft Windows 2000 5.00.2195 Service pack 4

Italian language version.

Hi,

I have installed SP4 on our copy of Windows 2000 Pro and ensured I am running exactly the same version as you: 5.00.2195 SP4.

AutoLogon works fine. No problems.

Check that you have all the correct options set up:

1. Under Tools/Options ensure that the Scheduler Service is enabled. Ensure that "Keep Scheduling on Exit (Starts Scheduler Service)" is checked and enabled.

2. Under properties for your macro go into AutoLogon and check that both checkboxes are checked ("Unlock Computer..." and "When Started by..."). Enter the username and password of the account that must be logged in.

3. Under properties for your macro ensure the correct schedule time is set under the "Run When" tab. Check off the days you want the macro to run on and enter the correct time in 24 hour format.

Step 1 is quite important - without the macro won't even schedule if the machine is logged out! It won't log in if it isn't scheduled!

Sorry, i have checked all options but i have got the same results.
The macro starts at the correct time, the unlock screen appears, the username field is filled with my userid and the password field is blank. The hourglass appears, the cursor blink for few seconds on the password field then it disappears. When I type in my password to unlock the workstation, i see macro scheduler icon blinking and if I stop the macro the workstation is locked.

Well I'm not sure what else I can tell you. I have no issues on Win2k Pro. Something about your setup appears not to be allowing the password to be entered. Is there any special security software running on that machine? Out of interest do you have another PC you can try it on to see if you get the same result?

Hi, I have forgotten to tell you about the combobox for network domain.
This combo is hide by "options" button. Can this combo generate a problem for autologon ?

It shouldn't matter - unless you need it to be different each time? If so it won't work, but if it never changes between sessions then it won't matter.
