Hi people,
I have had to reinstall my OS on a fresh drive, and need to restore my saved macros which I have temporarily backed up to a folder on my D drive.
Is there a quick way to copy over all my macros, and just as importantly copy over the hotkey shortcuts?
My entire old C drive is attached to my system, so if any config files need to be dragged over, they can be with no problem. I've tried this before and messed things up, so any advice would be really appreciated.
TIA,
H2000
Importing macros and hotkeys into new installation? V7.x

I haven't done this (and hopefully will never have to) but it seems straight forward enough as long as certain criteria are met. I assume you have already installed Macro Scheduler and it is installed on the new drive exactly as it was on the old drive.
First, make sure that MS is shut down and not running on the computer.
Second, make sure that you are on the same version (old and new drives).
Third, make sure the path to the "Macro Scheduler" folder is the same (old and new drives).
Fourth, if you are using non default folders for the script locations, make sure those folders exist on the new drive even though they're empty.
Fifth, double check the spelling of any folders you created on the new drive.
After that I'd just take the entire "MJT Net Ltd" folder and copy it onto the "Program Files" folder (assuming you installed to the "Program Files" folder). Allow Windows to overwrite all existing files and folders. If you're using a non default location for your scripts and the folder is not below the "MJT Net Ltd" folder, copy your scripts into the identically named and pathed folder on the new drive.
If it doesn't work, sorry to have used you as my guiney pig. You'll just have to reinstall and try someone else's best guess.
If something is not clear or there are any questions, let me know.
Later,
Dick

Hi Dick,
Many thanks for your reply. This is the method I had previously used, and while it imports all the macros, it didn't seem to import the hotkey shortcuts. I suppose I can always rename the current dir to mjt - new and try it out, ands if it doesn't work i can restore my -new directory to its former state. the hotkeys always seem to be the sticking point when doing this... not to mention the dreade path changes in all the macros from the WINME e:\my documents to \user\blah blah. Search and replace, I suppose.
