Just SSL would do then. Secure FTP usually refers to standard FTP with SSL encryption on top, which is NOT SFTP which is a completely different protocol.CyberCitizen wrote:Thanks For The Response. I asked the question because what is really meant can have huge implications and people often don't really know what they mean in the first place! Adding SSL support to the FTP commands is one thing. Introducing an SFTP command set is an utterly different matter altogether.
I have added SSL support for the existing FTP command set to the wish list. SFTP will be best left to external third party libraries.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

Since I originally brought up the topic, I thought I would add my latest thoughts.
Based on the bloat, even if not used, I would say that an internal Macro Scheduler could be left out.
We don't need to have every possible command to be internal to Macro Scheduler. Having the existing FTP command is fine, does not need to be enhanced.
As we have seen, there are other programs with SFTP command line options that can be automated using Run Program>.

Hope this was helpful..................good luck,

With regard to external tools to do SFTP within Macro Scheduler macros...
One thing high on my list of TODOs as I rip through needed uses for Macro Scheduler is replacing some off-site backup scheduled task scripts that use FTP. We really need to be using SFTP, so I dug a little to see what's out there at the start of 2007.
After following the links in Marcos' post, I was concerned about price. So I Googled and came up with this -- Tunnelier from Bitvise:
http://www.bitvise.com/tunnelier
I'll report soon in its use for my purposes, but the site's descriptive info and very reasonable free-for-most and step-wise licensing is a nice alternative to the licensing of ActiveX and DLLs intended for redistribution, etc.

P.S. I have no connection with Bitvise other than as a prospective potential user of its freely available Tunnelier as mentioned above.
I am a new Macro Scheduler (version 9) user and loving it. I 'kissed a LOT of Windows macro frogs' before happily settling on Macro Scheduler. I especially like the barebones-but-helpful scripting IDE (as I am more a programmer than a 'watch and do this' macro developer -- I sure would like auto-indenting though).mtettmar wrote:I believe very strongly that this would be much better as an add on DLL or ActiveX. Such libraries are in fact already available from third parties such as: ... [snip]
