Getting the Title Bar details

I am trying to get the Title Bar details (title bar name etc) so that I can detect if a timeout has taken place while running some scripts during Regression testing purposes.
How do you get the title bar details - is there a function that will read these details into a variable for example.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think you should be able to use getactivewindow
