Using ReadFile on a network drive

Post by Kent Rukke » Thu May 05, 2005 7:49 pm

Having a problem with the "ReadFile" command on a "shared" network drive.
The compiled script works fine for me--I have the following network access rights: Read, Write, Erase, Create, Modify, and File Scan. It does not work for people that only have Read and File Scan. Does the "ReadFile" command do more than "read" the file?

Thanks,

Kent

No, it only reads. Should only need read access.

Hi:

I was able to get the "ReadFile" command to work for other users by adding the "Write" access to their network rights. We are running Windows 2000 Professional work stations on a Novell network.
