Error Message On New Machine

Post by CyberCitizen » Fri Feb 13, 2015 12:07 am

Hi Marcus,

Hoping you can assist. I have moved jobs and am now on a new computer.

I have Macro Scheduler virtualized in VMWare's ThinApp & has been working great for many years. The issue I have now is when I run it on my new work machine (Win 7 64bit). I get the below error.

---------------------------
Application Error
---------------------------
Exception EAccessViolation in module msched.exe at 0004FA07.
Access violation at address 0044FA07 in module 'msched.exe'. Read of address 88000008.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

I can run the same exe on other computers at home & other work places (both Win7 32 & 64bit) but on this computer it fails to run. I can run v12 of MS without an issue, however trying to use v14.0.8 or even the latest version (trial) I get the same error. I have installed it locally and ran it to test & it appears to work, so it seems to be when the newer versions are bundled in ThinApp. Are their any drivers or anything that are called during startup that could be causing me an issue?

I am really missing MS, however I can't install it here, hence why I normally have it packaged as a portable.

Caveat Emptor: As you are aware you have a non-standard installation and ThinApp is not something we support, so my help will be limited.

All I can say is I am not aware of any extra "drivers" or runtime requirements between 12 and 14.

Maybe a look at the change list will jog an idea:

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?
