Portable Macro Scheduler

Post by Ajay Kumar » Sat Dec 05, 2009 11:25 am

Hi Experts,

Thats really awesome invention from MJT. I am really eager to know about it as I will be using macro scheduler. After reading this I got some queries.

1. Is it true that we can make use of one license key across different systems with the help of portable macro scheduler? This way we don’t need to have multiple license keys for multiple systems to run macro.

2. Is there any limitation on number of systems across which portable macro schedule can be used?

3. Could some one send me detailed manual for this in which each and every minute details are available.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ajay Kumar

No. Please read your license agreement. If you like Macro Scheduler please support the small company that created it and help us stay in business so that we can keep providing the best support in the business and keep Macro Scheduler evolving.

The portable installer simply allows your existing license to become portable. The license agreement still stands. You can use the software on only one PC at any one time. It still requires a license key to operate and therefore will not allow an organisation to run more than one copy at a time.

Hi,

Apology I think I didn’t make my self clear. I am new to Macro Scheduler.
What I meant is can we use single license key (with Portable Macro Scheduler) across the systems but using it for one system at a given point of time? I know that it is not possible to run multiple Macro Schedulers on multiple systems using single license key, this case we would required multiple keys. Portable Macro Scheduler is really nice feature so just want to make my self aware of it completely if in future I am required it I can go for it.

I had one doubt once I have license and I have installed it in required system. What if my system gets crashed and needs complete format in which I will lose every tool which is installed on it. Can I use same license key in that case or I would be required to buy new license key?

What is the way of support once I buy the license and how can I approach back to MJT for any kind of supported realted to tool?

I really like this tool and soon I will be working on licensed version as I need to work on this tool to automate application. Rite now practicing on trail version, want to learn bout it as much as possible.
Thanks
Ajay Kumar

When you purchase from us we give you an account on our website where you can log in and retrieve your software and license key(s). If you should need to reformat your hard drive or move to a new PC you can simply download again and use the same key.

For support you can use the contact form on our website to create a support ticket. You will get a response by email and can also view responses online.

If you want to make macros that can be used on multiple PCs then I would suggest you use the Pro version so that you can compile macros to executables.

If you would like to see the license agreement please email [email protected] (I don't have the URL to hand right now).

Hi,

Thanks for all your quick response.
I have sent mail for license agreement and the raised ticket mail I have got. Things are pretty quick here.

If I could know little more on portable macro scheduler part that will be really appreciated. Definitely it is useful in many ways. My question is how will license work on this?

a. Is it something like we can only run on a certain number of boxes?
b. If I make use of Portable macro scheduler then do I need to install anything in system or it’s just inserting the USB (Where the Macro is installed) and execute the script?
Thanks
Ajay Kumar

Portable Macro Scheduler

Post by Ajay Kumar » Tue Dec 08, 2009 7:49 am

Hi Admin,

I really appreciate all your quick responses.

I am awaiting response on my last post (above). If I could get any information, that will be really a great support.

One more thing I wanted to add up into the post. I have received license agreement from [email protected]. Doest these agreements apply to Portable MS too or they are different for it?
Thanks
Ajay Kumar

For full details of the portable install creator see:
http://www.mjtnet.com/blog/2009/03/19/c ... tall-beta/

It simply creates a portable installation from your EXISTING installation. So you must already have a license to use it. It simply makes it possible to use your existing install from a USB drive. It does not (and you must not) install anything on the host PC. It is so that you can edit scripts on other PCs *temporarily*. It will NOT enable you to run Macro Scheduler on more than one PC at a time. For that you will need a multi-user license. You can put the portable copy on ONE USB device for YOUR use only.

Thank you Marcus for your continues support,

I read the responses at "http://www.mjtnet.com/blog/2009/03/19/c ... mment-2310".

The veryfirst response from Bob Hansen communicates to me that we don't have to have MS installed on the system(XP system that never had MS installed). Still the MS scripts can be executed on system with USB.

From Bob:

"I installed the Portable version of Macro Scheduler on an old 256Mb flash drive, and also installed on a newer U3 compatible flash drive. Was no difference, both handled the installation and operated perfectly.

I inserted the flash drive into an XP system that never had Macro Scheduler installed. I double clicked on the executable file and Macro Scheduler 11 started right up."

That is what I want to get clear as I am not supposed to install anything on application system so I was thinking to use Portable MS on USB.

Is that possible that I dont need to install anything on my application system have everything installed on USB and whenever required execute the application with USB? If yes then how to validate the Portable MS with license key as it would be required before executing MS scripts?
Thanks
Ajay Kumar

You need to already have a full install in order to CREATE the portable install. It copies the details from your existing license to create a new portable install on your USB device. THEN you can use that portable installation on your USB device on a computer that doesn't already have Macro Scheduler installed, for YOUR temporary use only.

I have obviously failed utterly and miserably to explain this so I will remove it from the site and go back to the drawing board.

Tons of thank Marcus to explain me in detail about MS.
I appreciate the continuous support on MS.

I got it exactly how it works, now its time for me to do some hands on this tool.

Once again thank you so much to bear with me on this.
Thanks
