Help with closing Input box automatically

Post by E Coli » Fri Jul 18, 2003 8:43 pm

Hi All,

I'm trying to write a script to clean up a barcode input from a keyboard wedge, add a date stamp, and insert it into an Access database. My first stumble came when I haven't been able to figure out how to make the Input box accept the data automatically. My barcode data appears just fine in the box, but then I have to press ENTER or click the OK button. I want this operation to be hands free.

If I put Press Enter, it doesn't happen until after I close the Input box.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Eric

Most scanner units are programmable but also have some default values pre-set. Check the programming of your scanner unit and be sure it is set up to include a ENTER code along with the value of the scan bar. Many of these can be programmed based on the value of the scan bar itself, so some will include ENTER and some don't have to.

I think that will probably resolve your problem.
