Anyone ever figure out a way to extract the graphics text from those "protected" sites that try to prevent scripted autoposting?

If I knew of a way I wouldn't divulge it.
Our forums and contact forms have been victim to too many spam-bots too many times for me to condone bypassing these security features. If a website wants to prevent automated form fills, then that should be respected.
Most decent captcha image checks use techniques to make OCR and brute force attempts almost impossible anyway.
Of course, if you're automating a site that you own, or have agreement/authority to automate, then you are in a position to modify the site to allow it, and it is therefore not an issue.
