Test Automation

Post by dandyling » Tue Jun 09, 2015 10:43 am

Hi,

I am thinking of using Macro Scheduler to do test automation. I can automate the program to launch, and to perform certain tasks. After certain criteria is met, I would like Macro Scheduler to mark the test as 'pass'. How could I do that / the best practice to do it other than writing a custom macro to an excel file and write 'pass'?

That really depends what is defined as success. You can check for all kinds of things - the state of an object, the existence of text on the screen, the existence of a window, or screen image, or .... whatever. And you can write out to log files, databases, excel files ... so again, how you write out that the thing you are looking for has "passed" or "failed" is again up to you. All depends on what you want to look for and where you want to log the results. All depends on your own scenario. No hard and fast rules.
