Windows 2003 Server / Scheduling not working

Post by nao » Mon Mar 23, 2009 6:55 pm

Hi all,

Re: Macro Scheduler v11.1.06e EVALUATION

I am running the MS11 evaluation on Windows 2003 Server and I cannot seem to get macro's to run at scheduled times. The 'Calculator' example macro, for example, runs flawlessly when I run it manually, however, it will not run when I schedule it.

Also, log files are not being created as requested. I think the macro is simply not starting at all.

I've read quite a lot on this forum about policy settings and security, however, these all postings between 2004 ~ 2006 and I have no idea how much is still relevant with this particular build of version 11.

I am logged in as Administrator and I remain logged-in the entire time I'm waiting for the macro to run. Nothing.

Any ideas?

With many thanks,

Nao

Odd. I have had no problems scheduling macros on 2003 server.

Do you leave Macro Scheduler running?

What happens if you do this:

- Edit the calculator sample
- Under "Run When":
- check off ALL days
- Enter ONE minute LATER than NOW in the Time field. Time must be given in 24 hour format. So if it is currently 1.32 pm enter 13:33.
- Press Save and close the properties form.
- Leave Macro Scheduler running.
- Wait, watch.

Does the macro fire?

If not let me know. I'll be happy to connect up with you via BeamYourScreen and take a look myself.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

Marcus,

Thank you very much for your response.

I edited the Calculator sample macro
I checked the Mon, Tue, Wed ... Sun checkboxes.
I entered one minute later than now in 24H format (09:40 in this instance)
I pressed SAVE to close the Calculator macro properties form
I left the Scheduler running (ie., I did nothing else) and waited.

Nothing!

BeamYourScreen sounds fine, how shall we do it?

Please kindly advise.

Best wishes,

Nao
