Upgrade Pricing

Post by Guest » Sat Apr 19, 2003 9:54 pm

Am confused about pricing (USD rounded values).

Basic version = $60
Pro version = $140 (+ $80).

Upgrade from Basic to Pro = +$100 or total of $160.

Seems like upgrade pricing should be equal to or less than outright purchase price especially for already registered users. Why should it cost $20 more?

Is this a misunderstanding on my part? A mistake? Will it be corrected? Hope so, I do want to upgrade.

It should cost equal or MORE (not less), which it does. We (users) are lucky the difference between basic+upgrade and full is only $20. Many companies only give you a break of like $20 or $30 off the full price if you already have the basic.

Exactly what part are you confused about? It makes sense to me.

I can chose to buy Basic at $60 or Pro at $140.

No demo available for Pro version, need to check out Basic version first. I chose Basic. Cost = $60
Some time later I want to upgrade Basic to Pro.
Cost is +$100, Total = $160.
But I could have purchased Pro for $140.
Why do I have a penalty because I want to get the enhanced version later on vs. immediately?
Total should still be $140 max.

I should return my original copy for a refund and then buy Pro version for $140.

It does not make sense to me. I think upgrade pricing should be changed.
