Script Compiler Test

Post by CyberCitizen » Fri Oct 29, 2004 2:32 am

Hello Everybody,

I currently have MS Pro 6.2

I am thinking of upgrading to MS Pro 7.* for the script compiler.

I would like to test the compiler on one of my scripts first.

If someone could compile this script http://users.esc.net.au/~michaelallen/NetSend.txt & email it to [email protected] for testing.

Thank you. Hopefully the script works fine & I will purchase the upgrade.

Hi,

We provide compiled versions of the sample scripts that come with the software on our download page allowing you to compare the two.

In any case a compiled .exe version of your script will do EXACTLY what your non compiled script does.

If a .exe works differently on a target computer than on the computer you wrote it on, so will the .scp file if you installed Macro Scheduler on the target computer too. They do exactly the same thing and differences in operation on different computers is down to the way the script has been written.

When writing scripts (or any other kind of program for that matter) for distribution to multiple systems consider how to make the script generic - screen resolutions differ, comspecs differ, operating systems differ, different applications and utilities are installed, etc, etc.
