File Not Found when trying to record

Post by Bihlbo » Wed Aug 11, 2004 9:28 pm

Hey, I've done some looking on the forum and haven't found anyone else with this problem (maybe I missed it, I hope not).

When I begin to record a macro, after I type in the name of the macro and tell it to start, the mouse stops responding to clicks (I can still move it) until I Ctrl-Alt-S to stop the recording. At that point an error box appears that says "File Not Found". When I go back to MacroS. the "Stop recording" button is highlighted, like it's waiting on me to stop it.

I've uninstalled MacroS. and reinstalled it twice now, in an effort to fix this. I've also made sure that I'm using the most recent version of the trial software. Anyone have a suggestion as to what I should do?

Hmmm. Could be because the stop recording hotkey is already in use by something else on the system. Try changing the hotkey used to stop the recording from the default ctrl-alt-s to something else when you start the recording.

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?

I'm having EXACTLY the same problem. I've resorted to writing all my macros from scratch because the record function doesn't work (you get the file not found condition another user described above).

It may possibly be related to a recent upgrade to XP because I know it worked six months ago - any ideas?

Did you try changing the stop recording hot key as suggested?

Yes, I did try that already - no change. I am currently running version 7.4, although the problem was also present before I upgraded.

Just upgraded from 7.4.002 to 7.4.004 and my record functionality has returned!

Good news! But odd at the same time as nothing has been altered regarding the recording code. Anyway, glad it's working for you!

Recording hangs

Post by sohannin » Thu Sep 08, 2005 7:35 am

I have this same problem and changing the "record stop"-key doesn't help. In fact everything except mouse hangs, when I start doing something under recording. For example, if I press Windows+R to open run-dialog, I cannot type anything to that dialog until I try to stop the recording. At this point MSched tells me that "file not found".

- Do you get this problem with 7.4?
- Does the problem persist after a reboot? Please try.

Seems to work after reboot. Thanks!
