MS flagged by Punk Buster

Post by fightcancer » Wed Sep 16, 2009 1:23 pm

I play the PC game Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (COD4:MW). To reduce cheaters (e.g. aimbots, wall hacks, etc.) most game servers require a 3rd party auditor called Punk Buster to be running in the background while you play on those servers. The issue is that when I have MS10 open (not running a macro of any kind) Punk Buster will kick me from those servers. I've heard of online chess servers running similar scans to see whether chess programs are open.

So in the case of COD4, I can close MS and reconnect to that server. Problem solved, but it raises another question.

If I were running a MS macro compiled by MS Pro, i.e. a homemade EXE, would such monitoring software be likely to detect the presence of MS when MS is closed but the compiled macro is running? There are some slower-paced games where I want to use MS. Thanks.

A while back I put a Macro Scheduler compiled script on SkyDrive. You can get it HERE. See if Punk Buster thinks its evil.

Great! Punk Buster did not kick me that time while the app was running. Thanks!

Cool app BTW.
