[Closed] Problem changing values in Hot Key Tab

Post by jpuziano » Sat Jan 17, 2009 2:37 am

Hi Marcus,

When I change a Hot Key on a macro now in version 11.1 :
  • - I double click the macro from the main window
    - macro opens in the new editor
    - I click the "Hot Key" tab and select a different Hot Key
    - there is no OK or Apply button to click so I just click the X in the upper right corner to close the macro
    - it sees I've changed the Hot Key so it asks if I want to save the change, I click yes, the macro closes, done.
This works fine with the upper method of choosing a Hot Key... I can change the Hot Key or just uncheck the checkbox beside "Assign The Following Windows HotKey To This Macro" and when I click the X, it will sense the change and offer to save the change.

Not so with the lower method. If I have a Hot Key set there, I can deselect the checkbox then click the X and it closes the macro but leaves the Hot Key there... it did not notice the change. I can even click into the field, type some other Hot Key combination, the new keys show in the field... then I click the X and again, it fails to notice the change, it closes the macro and the Hot Key has not been changed.

Can it be made to sense changes in the Hot Key or checkbox on the lower method... just like it does on the top?

Finally, while testing Hot Keys, I noticed this one is still an issue in 11.1:
If I remember correctly, you had said (in a separate note) that maybe with the next version of the compiler, a solution could be found for it. If not that's fine, just wondering if there was anything new on this one.

Thanks Marcus and take care

Anything new on the above old bug?

No, sorry, I looked at this in some detail and was unable to find a cause or fix. It seems deep inside Delphi's code base and the work involved to find someone to figure it out and recode the Delphi libraries cannot be justified.
