Watch List and %TAB%---Completed 01/12/09

Post by JRL » Tue Dec 23, 2008 11:09 pm

If a variable is set with %TAB% as part of its value, nothing past the Tab will show up in the editor Watch List.

Let>var=text will display VAR=text
Let>var=text%TAB%text will display VAR=text
Let>var=%TAB%text will display VAR=

Displaying the variable in a message shows that the value contains the TAB and the trailing text. Also, acquiring the variable's value by right clicking the variable name in the Watch List and selecting "Copy Line" or "Copy Value" works as its supposed to work.

If a TAB can't be displayed in the Watch List as a short empty interval, could TAB be displayed as a box much like CR and LF?

Thank you for listening,
Dick

This request was granted on January 12, 2009 with the release of Macro Scheduler version 11.1.

Thank you,

Hi JRL,

Thanks for updating the Subject line of your original post to show that this one was completed. I wish more posters would do this as it makes it easy to see at a glance what's been done and what may be outstanding.

I tried this out just now in 11.1 and see that the %TAB% value inside a variable now shows as a short blank interval (looks like a space) when seen in the debugger watch list.

Thanks for fixing Marcus and thanks for finding this one JRL.
