Sending emails via Outlook.com (Office365)

Post by montanan » Wed Jun 22, 2016 5:40 pm

Fellow automators,

Would appreciate some help on this.

This posting...

... is really helpful. I am able to send emails via the gmail smtp service using the SMTPSendMail command (while making use of the SSL libraries)

However, I'm not able to get the same thing to work with Outlook.com (Office365) SMTP.

Have any others been able to get this to work?

Hi,

I haven't tried it but the instructions are here:

https://support.office.com/en-gb/articl ... n-GB&ad=GB

Under "Apps that support POP and IMAP" you will see the SMTP settings needed.

Update: The issue here turns out to be that Office 365 requires a TLS connection for SMTP. Until now SMTPSendMail did not support TLS. As of today and build 14.4.02 SMTPSendMail now supports TLS and you can therefore now sent via Office 365. Please see:
