Keyloggers/Detecting Keyboard Events

I am trying to code a keylogger without using the WaitKeyDown> command. I am running a code which I want to pause at the press of a button. In the past I have tried running two instances of Macro Scheduler, one that waited for the key press then changed a keylog file and another which ran my process and periodically checked the keylog file.

I want to be able to do this using one macro, and I don't want to learn Delphi or some other language

Anyone have any ideas?
