I’ve improved the Macro Scheduler Portable installer so that it now prompts for the drive letter you want to install on rather than default to Program Files which doesn’t make much sense for a portable install. It also grabs your license code from your full install so that you don’t need to enter it manually the first time you run the portable copy.

I’ve added the Macro Scheduler Portable Installer download to the plugins page.

Does it still require Macro Sceduler to be installed? That kind of defeats the purpose too.

  2. Marcus Tettmar says:

No, Macro Scheduler does not have to be installed on the PC you want to run the portable version on. That’s the whole point of a portable version.

You do already need a regular copy of Macro Scheduler on YOUR PC from which you will CREATE the portable version. Once you have created a portable copy that copy will run on ANY PC without Macro Scheduler needing to be installed first. Usually you would create the portable install on a USB thumbdrive or similar. Once created you can plug that USB device into any other PC and run Macro Scheduler from it.

Question about upgrades to Macro Scheduler normal version….

When upgrades are available, it seems that we would do another install on the
    flash drive, is that correct?

  4. Marcus Tettmar says:

Yes. Or copy the files manually.
