I’m curious about this:
* Does the program require a Verisign certificate?
* I read that the installer file must be a MSI file. Is this correct. You install package is an EXE
I think it would be very useful if you could post a little step by step guide on how to have an application certified with the work with Windows Vista logo.

Yes, a Verisign code signing certificate is required. A bit annoying since we already have a Thawte one. However, they are currently offering the Verisign code signing cert for only $99 for the first year via the Windows Vista logo program.
Sorry, missed your other question. No MSI is not required. A .EXE installer is fine. The link me_again has posted outlines the steps required.
